The road to hell is not paved with good intentions. It is paved with lack of intention.
—Dr. Gabor Mate
Without deliberate positive action, entropy drags us in the direction of ill-health and ultimately death. For mental health, the lack of widespread use of temporal, quantitative, and objective measures have limited self-insight, systematic improvements, and targeted external help.
We and others have developed simple digital and molecular tools to remedy this situation. These tools enable precise knowledge followed by targeted improvement.
The next step now is their widespread dissemination and adoption. A lack of intention to measure, track and personalize things on the part of individuals, clinicians, and organizations has been the primary reason why mental health lags behind other types of health. This situation can turn around for the better very fast.
