Dr. Niculescu is an internationally renowned, award-winning psychiatrist, scientist, educator, and entrepreneur. Over the last two decades, he has pioneered the field of precision psychiatry in general, and the development of blood tests for psychiatric disorders in particular. Dr. Niculescu is a winner, among other accolades, of the Theodore Reich Award from the International Society for Psychiatric Genetics in 2007, the National Institutes of Health Directors’ New Innovator Award in 2010, and the Indiana University Trustee’s Teaching Award in 2019. He founded MindX Sciences to help transform mental health. Dr. Niculescu has dedicated his career to the improved understanding, treatment and prevention of mental health issues, and has personally treated over 10,000 patients.
