Incorrect information (hallucinations), incorrect ways of processing information (delusions), and incorrect actions in response to that processing of information (odd behaviors) are the three hallmarks of psychosis. We see that in untreated schizophrenia, a particularly disabling disorder that benefits greatly from early identification and correct treatment.

Screening with digital tools (apps), matching to personalized medication regimens with objective molecular tools (blood biomarker tests). That is the approach we are working on at MindX Sciences, including for psychosis.

We also see that more broadly and metaphorically in society as a result of misinformation, cultural contagion, and odd behavioral examples. Social media and video games have amplified this, resulting in dangerous mental health and behavioral consequences, particularly in the young and vulnerable: suicides, addictions (including digital addictions), violence. Awareness of the problem is the first step towards a solution.
