The world is going through a difficult time currently from a public health perspective, economically, and culturally. How to navigate these turbulent times?

Life satisfaction (happiness, hope and meaning) is based on internal perception, on your feelings and thoughts about external events. Life success (health, wealth, influence) can be objectively good or bad. There are individuals or instances where life satisfaction is ahead of life success, and that could be due to a positive and optimistic mental attitude or to addictions. There are other individuals or instances where life satisfaction is behind life success, and that can be due to a negative and pessimistic mental attitude or mental illness.

The key to having both satisfaction and success in the long-term is to keep your life satisfaction slightly ahead of your life success, using non-addictive means, and to keep working at improving both. A positive mental attitude and optimism can be learned and practiced, and mental illness can be treated and overcome.
