Resilience2024-07-22

Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.

Winston S. Churchill

Resilience to psychological and physical challenges is an important quality to develop in everybody, not just Navy Seals, regardless of their starting point and current circumstances. Everybody will faces challenges at some point or another, and how they cope can make a difference between a successful and satisfied life and a less successful and satisfied one.

Individuals with current (mental) health conditions in particular need to develop resilience, not just treat what ails them. Biologically, a combination of the right medications and nutraceuticals, along with proper nutrition, exercise, and sleep, can build their resilience. Socially, having a supportive and positive family, group of friends, or community, is key. Psychologically, they can become more resilient by developing an optimistic, growth mindset, based on gratitude (even for small things) and daily progress (even if small, just showing up).

Individuals who are currently doing well and are successful should not rest on their laurels, but continue to work at becoming even more resilient, with biological, social, and psychological reserves for possible hard times ahead, or for the higher demands of being already successful. Always point in the right direction and try to make progress, no matter where you started from and where you are in life. Measure progress internally, not by comparisons to others, so you can manage it! We suggest you get off Instagram and use our app instead.
