Birth and Growth of a Field2025-03-31

Starting early on a journey in the unknown, or at least untried, is no easy task. We did that for personalized psychiatry, first in academic and clinical research settings, and then two decades later, at a start-up company. The motivation was to get these discoveries and tests in a usable and useful format, into people’s hands, to start making a difference. (My academic lab would get inundated with calls and emails each time we published a paper, and I would have to tell patients and families that they cannot just come to my lab and get tested).
Five years later, our science-based, mission driven company, with a small but mighty, highly trained and motivated team, is making a difference in people’s lives- in particular for those labeled with “treatment-resistant depression” and bipolar disorders. It has been a labor of love. We would like to grow and expand in the year ahead, nationally and internationally, with a bigger team, so we can help more people. (Currently, the number of tests we do each month is limited, first come-first served).
